River Girl’s dress is made from TVA topographic maps. A story of tenacity and flow, she is stained from being in the sun, a little torn, and varnished because she’s part water. While making River Girl, I first thought the topography would be in the maps. It turned out, though, that the topography lay in her body.

Sundress is intentionally open and airy, a light dress. The waxed linen knots are cut short, reminiscent of seersucker or smocked fabric.
